Border patrol agents seized heroin at the Laredo border crossing and arrested a man from Austin.

Agents said nearly five pounds of heroin was hidden in an ice chest 36-year-old, Jose Luis Walter was trying to bring across the border into Texas.

The heroin has a street value of nearly $500,000.

Walter was turned over to Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

He's currently in the Webb County jail.
