Professional photographers volunteered their time to help find families for over 100 foster children in Central Texas.
The Heart Gallery of Austin is posting the portraits of these children in their second annual local event.
Tracy Eilers of the Adoption Coalition of Texas said seeing these portraits has had about a 55 percent success rate in finding children permanent homes.
"This gets people talking. It gets people talking about adoption. It gets people talking about the needs of the kids and their hopes and dreams," Eilers said.
Also important to this event is the song written from the perspective of a child looking for a home, entitled "My Forever Family," which was written in part by singer/songwriter Tommy Byrd.

"I sat on my couch with my guitar and looked at the faces of those kids, and it just came," Byrd said. "Some songs you kind of think about, and sometimes the song just writes itself."
The song will be performed at a black-tie fundraiser for children's adoptions on Friday night.
