Central Texas fire departments had their hands full this weekend battling about a half dozen wildfires.
The worst of the fires, in Leander, caused 80 homes to be evacuated. There were two blazes in the area that burned more than 125 acres combined.
Military families near Fort Hood have also returned to their homes after a large fire started around 1:30 p.m. Saturday. Firefighters from Killeen, Harker Heights, and Copperas Cove helped battle the fire with the aid of 200 soldiers.
Other parts of Killeen also battled grass fires around noon Saturday. Local fire crews and those from Southwest Bell County battled six house fires and numerous small grass fires. Between 70 to 100 people were evacuated, but allowed back in their homes two hours later.

In Travis County, crews battled a fire on Spicewood Springs Road and Yucca Mountain Drive that damaged 50 acres. In Southeast Travis County, four different departments spent an hour putting out a fire near Onion Creek Drive. That fire burned 35 acres.
No injuries were reported in any of the fires.
Dry, windy conditions contributed to the outbreaks. Warnings were in effect for South Central Texas from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m Saturday. The National Weather Service lifted the warning as winds subsided and the humidity increased.
