The Austin-Travis County EMS responded to the scene of a race related cardiac arrest Saturday on the course of the Capitol 10K.
Communications Medics received two 9-1-1 requests via cell phone, as well as a similar notification from Capitol 10K race officials.
Callers confirmed CPR had been initiated with bystander and one medical doctor at the scene.
Paramedics in two ambulances, an EMS crew staffing a golf cart, and an engine company from AFD arrived minutes later to confirm a 43 year-old male runner in cardiac arrest.
Emergency personnel were able to revive the victim, and transported him to Brackenridge Hospital.
The victim's name is not being released.
