SAN MARCOS -- Participants in the Corridor NanoBioTech Summit sought to bridge the gap between profitable businesses and cutting-edge scientific research into nanotechnology -- or the manipulation of matter at the molecular and atomic levels.
The summit, now in its second year, was organized partly by the Greater Austin-San Antonio Corridor Council, a nonprofit corporation composed of public and private representatives from the region.
Not only do nano and biotechnology have the ability to radically change our way of life, but they've got the potential for being the new largest economic driver in our world economy,'' Lt. Gov. David Dewhurst said.
