Todd Boatwright has always had a fixation with television. When he watched television as a youngster, he tried to figure out how they put the show together rather than paying attention to the content.
Since those days, Todd has developed into an established morning anchor at News 8 Austin. Todd graduated from the University of North Texas with a degree in Radio-Television-Film. While studying there, he had an internship at KDFW in Dallas.
He landed his first on-camera gig as a weekend anchor/weekday reporter at KAVU (ABC) in Victoria. He spent 15 months there and then continued to KETK (NBC) in Tyler, where he spent five years as the Longview bureau chief and reporter.
In 2000, Todd covered the Republican and Democratic Conventions, both in Philadelphia and Chicago. He has interviewed President Bill Clinton and President George W. Bush.
Todd loves anything having to do with old movies. Chaplin, which documents the life of the old movie star, is his all-time favorite. Although he says he cannot cook, Todd is a self-proclaimed kitchen gadget fanatic.
