In addition to his work with News 8 Austin, Andy Langer is a contributing editor at the Austin Chronicle and the host of "The Next Big Thing" on 101X (KROX).

He has covered Austin and national music for more than a decade as a freelance writer and serves as a frequent contributor to Texas Monthly, The Dallas Morning News, Guitar World, Revolver and Rolling Stone.

For his efforts, he's earned five consecutive Austin Music Awards for "Best Music Critic." In 1999, he was voted "Journalist Of The Year" in the Best Of Austin poll.

His Edge Austin travel guide is available at bookstores nationwide, as are two other books he's contributed to, Hollywood Rock and Rock Stars Do The Dumbest Things.
