Lesley McCaslin was born in Lubbock, Texas, but she was born a Longhorn nonetheless. She graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with two degrees – one in Theatre and Dance and one in Broadcast Journalism. She was a Kappa and on the pom squad while at Texas.

After graduation, Lesley began working in Dallas for Jeff Watts Productions, an independent producer. As a freelancer, she was the reporter/co-host for several shows, including the Texas Collegiate League Baseball Magazine for Fox Sports Net Southwest and several shows for the Outdoor Channel.

After working freelance, Lesley became the Weekend Sports Anchor and then the Sports Director at K-Texas in Abilene. She was there a year and a half before moving back to Austin and joining the News 8 Austin sports team.

Lesley got married in June to a professional golfer, and they couldn’t be more excited to make Austin their new home!

Her favorite sports memories include following the Horns to both Rose Bowls, especially the National Championship, and the 2005 NCAA College Basketball Regionals in Austin. Like most sports fans, Lesley loves all college sports and high school football every Friday night.

Lesley won second place for Best Sports Story at the 2005 Associated Press awards and an honorable mention for Best Sports Story in 2006.
