Native Texan Marc Gomez brings 35 years of broadcast experience to the weather department at News 8 Austin.

During his time as a radio personality, Marc has worked at top stations in San Antonio, Milwaukee, Tulsa and St. Louis. His television career is highlighted by his positions as chief meteorologist in Santa Maria, California, meteorologist at News 9 San Antonio and morning co-host and meteorologist at stations in Joplin, Missouri, and the Rio Grande Valley.

Marc’s experience also includes commercial and TV voiceover talent and as an instructor for broadcasting schools in California and Wisconsin.

He attended San Antonio College and Mississippi State University’s Broadcast Meteorology program. Marc is a member in good standing of the National Weather Association as well as an experienced and credentialed Skywarn Storm Spotter.

Marc was born in San Angelo and grew up in San Antonio. He now lives in the Texas Hill Country.
