Ricky Doyle grew up watching the great Washington Huskies football teams and was hooked on college football ever since. So, he can't think of a better place to work than in Austin, watching the 2006 National Champion Longhorns.
Before coming to Austin, Ricky was the Sports Director for KKCO, the NBC affiliate in Grand Junction, Colo. He also worked in production for ESPN in Bristol.
Ricky earned his Master's degree in broadcast journalism from Northwestern University's Medill School of Journalism. He did his undergrad at Boston College, where he traveled across the country as the play-by-play announcer for the student radio station.
Ricky was born in Chicago and grew up on Mercer Island, Wash., just east of Seattle. If he isn't working, he's probably either watching sports or playing sports.
He is a lifelong tennis player and skier. Ricky lives in Austin with his cat Tui, named after former Washington quarterback Marques Tuiasosopo.
The City of Austin plans to have the Nueces Bike Boulevard opened by late spring. The boulevard would be a multi-use path where car traffic is discouraged. How do you feel about this?
I think this is a great idea, we need more roads like this
