In broadcast journalism there is always "that" city where you want to end up in. For most journalists, it takes years to get there. For Reagan Hackleman, "that" place is Austin.
Reagan entered this world at St. David's Hospital in 1980 and has lived in many places since. But Austin has always been home. He discovered that telling the stories of Central Texans was his passion after carrying on the family tradition by graduating with a degree in Broadcast Journalism from the University of Texas.
During his Longhorn education, Reagan spent six months in Atlanta as an intern for CNN. After graduation he spent a year reporting the news of East Texas for KETK in Tyler.
Reagan said he's not one of those reporters who wants to "move on" to the next bigger market; he's here in Austin to stay.
His entire family is from the Central Texas area. His parents live in Round Rock, his sister lives in Austin and the rest of the family is scattered around Austin and the Hill Country.
During his free time you can find Reagan hitting the links, running on Town Lake and mountain biking. He's also an avid snow skier and spends as much time as he can in the Rocky Mountains.
You can find Reagan at City Hall most of the time when he's working. He covers the City of Austin/City Hall.
