Austin Java Coffee Company has teamed up with the Capital Area Food Bank and will host a donation drive to assist with relief efforts. In addition to monetary donations, Austin Java will collect nonperishable items such as diapers, canned tuna, peanut butter, and new or slightly used clothes.

Katrina: San Marcos Disaster Relief Donations
San Marcos Mayor Susan Narvaiz has created a special City account to accept disaster relief donations from local residents. Checks may be made out to the City of San Marcos with a notation of "Katrina Disaster Relief." The funds will be sent to the American Red Cross.

Katrina: Mobile Loaves & Fishes
MLF is mobilizing its resources and volunteers to help aid in the recovery of those people severely affected by Hurricane Katrina. We're asking for donations of equipment such as generators, chainsaws, and air compressors as well as monetary donations.

During the month of September, the Austin Children’s Museum is offering free admission to refugees of hurricane Katrina. Also, donations made during the Museum’s Community Nights will be donated to the Central Texas Red Cross and the Southeastern Museums Conference Fund.

Katrina: American Red Cross of Central Texas
Financial gifts should go to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund which allows the Red Cross to provide shelter, food, counseling and other assistance to those in need. Donate items at any of the 40 Goodwill stores in Central Texas, the Capital Area Food Bank or at the Red Cross Collection Center at 2218 Pershing Road, near the old Mueller Airport.

Katrina: All-Day Benefit for Hurricane Victims
In coordination with Lovejoys Tap Room and Brewery, Austin DJ Miguel Harvey will host the Bayou Benefit for the victims of Hurricane Katrina. The benefit will include entertainment by several of Austin’s finest local DJs, a bake sale, and a raffle for prizes provided by Austin businesses, with all door, bake sale and raffle proceeds going directly to the American Red Cross.

Katrina: Austin Charities Event
The family-friendly, outdoor event will feature live music, activities for kids and a variety of food and beverage vendors. Volunteers from each participating charity will be on hand to take donations to the Hurricane Katrina relief efforts, both cash and in-kind, and the Capital Area Food Bank will run a canned food drive during the event. Katrina: Eat Cajun for Hurricane Relief
Eddie V's downtown restaurant will be donating 100% of their sales from Sunday night, Sept. 18th, dinners to hurricane relief. Owners Guy and Larry are from Louisiana and the chef, JP, is from New Orleans. There will be a special New Orleans style menu.
